World class riding, great roads and no-traffic. High mountainous dessert but the grades are easy. Start each day at a beach front campground climb 500m and then ride with little change in altitude and beautiful views. The day ends with a long descent back to a beach front campground. Two the best riding days of my life were in southern Sardinia. |

Camping |
Camp every night on a Mediterranean beach, this is touring. Forget what you've heard about Italian Campgrounds, in Sardinia they are very clean and have beautiful facilities often shared with a 4 star hotel. The first thing you see when you check in is the bar with cold beer, just remember 'Bira Grande'. In season most campgrounds have restaurants but a good restaurant usually isn't far away. |

Sights |
High mountains and beautiful beaches are enough for me. But in Sardinia add ancient hill top towns with narrow streets and the mysterious Nuraghi. Nuraghi are ancient bee-hive shaped fortresses unique to Sardinia. There are still over 7000 of these 3500 year old hill forts in Sardinia. |
